I would like to take this opportunity to thank my friend Christine for having a birthday last week.
I would also like to thank Skyler for coming to my house and caring for my young whilst I celebrated the afore mentioned birthday. (We love you Skyler! Never leave us!)
I was so excited about going out sans offspring that I started getting ready 2 hours before our babysitter was supposed to be here.
The fact that I was ready when the babysitter arrived was pretty huge.
But.
I.
was.
so.
ready.
I was wearing make up on a weeknight.
I was dressed.
My hair was fixed.
Let me say that again.
My hair was fixed.
I have a lot of hair. And it was all fixed. While I was dressed. And wearing mascara.
This had to be documented.
Seriously. Big. Deal.
You don't understand how big. Or, maybe you do. Maybe you too, Gentle Reader, have small children, and remember with a bittersweet smile the thrill of adult conversation. Perhaps you too, carry wet wipes and toy fire engines in your purse. Maybe I'm not the only one who hasn't gone to the bathroom by myself since 2005.
Anyway...
Big deal.
Grown ups.
Mascara.
Hairspray.
Doesn't happen very often, folks.
I'm not even wearing yoga pants.
