Like most mothers across the globe, I thought Easter Sunday was the perfect day for a family photo. But things rarely work out according to my secret plans and expectations, especially when the children are involved. Especially on a holiday. Especially when it is centered around a family photograph where everyone looks like upstanding members of society. Everyone wearing real clothes. All five of us looking in the general direction of the camera... you know. Those kind of ludicrous pipe dreams.
Alas, it was not to be. The baby fell asleep in the car on the way home from church. Lucas wriggled out of his striped Easter tie and into his Buzz Lightyear pajamas the second he hit the door.
sigh...
Well fine, kids. Take that, offspring. We'll do it without you. That'll fix yer wagons. As rare as a family photo is, a shot of just Chris and I together is even rarer. Rare. Like, Lucas wearing clothes all day and not changing into pajamas rare. Harrison not splashing in puddles rare. Max eating broccoli rare. Okay, not that rare. But still... rare.
