Happy 1st Birthday Jude!

A year ago today our sweet Jude came to stay.  Wow.  A year.  He's wonderful.
We celebrated his birthday over the weekend.

Tomorrow, our sweet Jude Baby will be one year old.   Yeah. I know. The day we discovered he was coming to be part of our family was filled with mixed emotions.  Well, okay.  Not very mixed.  Just the kind of emotions that produce tears and lamentations.  There were tears.  And also, there were lamentations.   But now...  We don't even want to imagine a world without him.  He was always supposed to be here with us.  He completes our family.  He completes me.   You Belong Here by Leagues is the perfect song for Jude right now.  Full of joy, just like him.

He's turning one next week.  His party is this Saturday.  After the two elementary school Valentine's Day parties (boys don't give a poo about the fine art of special Valentine cards for your classmates, by the way.  Well, at least mine don't.  AT ALL.)  But before we head to Denver next week for my Grandparents 90th birthday extravaganza.  Yeah.  Baby's 1st birthday party is snuggled in there.  And I may, or may not, have already shed a couple of tears going through photos for his birthday movie...

Jude hasn't quite figured out what a cup is for yet...  He likes it. He likes it very much.  He just hasn't quite learned what to do with it...

Christmas Eve Photo Op. Almost.

A little note on photography...  Christmas tree lights have such a lovely ambiance and really add magic to holiday photos.  This is completely lost if you use a flash.  So.  I crank my ISO way up.  This results in quite a bit of grain.  I'm okay with that.  I would rather have some grain and keep the magical warm glow of the Christmas lights, than loose it all with a big flash that drowns out the tree and washes out all the faces.  Personal preferance!

The Wonderful Sixth Month of Jude

Well...  my photo-a-day project didn't turn out to be so much of a "photo-a-day" as a, "photo-most-days".  But he blazed through that sixth month anyway, and I did get some photos of his daily cuteness.    I'm so glad I did, too.  We call him our Sunshine Baby.  He's such a happy little person...  I'm so glad he came to be part of our family.  Love, love, lovey, love, love this babe.
