I've been a little obsessed...
I read online about this little trick to turn your 50mm lens around backwards to use it as a macro lens. (A macro lens is a camera lens that you use to make really tiny things look big, like looking into binoculars backwards.) It's kind of tricky, because you can't focus the lens like normal, obviously... it isn't actually attached to your camera.
And let me now take this opportunity to say that I am in no way advising you to try this little stunt at home, and am therefore in no way responsible if you try it, drop your lens on your foot and get Cheetos all up inside your camera. Not my fault. Pass the Cheetos.
Anyways, back to my story.
So focusing is kinda hard...
You have just just move in and out very slowly (very, very slowly) until you get the focus just right, then take the photo really quick. There's a bit of a learning curve. I'm not very good at it, but it's fun to play.
I've gotten kind of obsessed with this little trick lately...
Risky little game with my orange Cheetos fingers...
I've mostly had to stick to things that don't move... Little boys are too squirmy for backwards lenses...
This bee was pretty cooperative, though. I think he had his eyes on my Cheetos...
